The China Millennium Monument is a landmark building in Beijing. The uniquely shaped sundial坛 square is very spectacular and is a great place for taking photos. Here there is also a World Art Museum that frequently holds art exhibitions from around the world. You can also learn about the development history of the Chinese nation and visit sculptures and murals of famous people. It is worth a visit.

Visiting the China Millennium Monument is relatively simple and mainly consists of two parts: outdoor and indoor visits. First, visit the outdoor square, the sundial-shaped building, and the relief wall. Then go to the indoor exhibitions. It takes about one to two hours.

Outdoor Architecture

The outdoor architecture mainly consists of the China Sacred Fire Square on the south side by Fuxing Road, the 300-meter bronze corridor, and the main building of the monument. The China Sacred Fire Square is sunken and circular, with a diameter of about more than thirty meters. At the south gate of the square is the stele of the China Millennium Monument. The stele is a white marble stone 9 meters long and 1 meter high.

The preface to the monument behind the white marble describes the history of the Chinese nation for thousands of years. It is magnificent and can also be visited carefully. There is a water flow on each side of the square steps flowing down the steps, symbolizing the mother rivers of the country, the Yellow River and the Yangtze River. In the center of the square is a cluster of perennial flames. The fire source is taken from the Peking Man Site at Zhoukoudian, symbolizing the endless continuation of Chinese civilization.

The corridor is located on the north side of the square and connects the square and the main building of the monument. The more than 300-meter bronze corridor records the historical and cultural history of the Chinese nation from the appearance of humans more than three million years ago to 2000 AD through carvings. The four great inventions and major events in Chinese history can all be seen here.

After walking through the corridor, you come to the steps of the main building of the monument. The monument is in the shape of a huge sundial and is also one of the landmarks of Beijing. Many tourists will take photos here.
