The China North-South Demarcation Marker stands approximately 40 meters tall. It features eight steel pipes, with four blue pipes pointing north and four red pipes pointing south. At the top of the structure is a dragon, symbolizing power and good fortune, while in the middle is a pearl, representing wealth and prosperity. Below are the four mythical creatures – the Vermilion Bird, Xuanwu, Azure Dragon, and White Tiger, which were ancient guardians of the cardinal directions – east, north, west, and south, respectively. The marker is open all year round and accessible 24/7.
