The Chong’an Temple scenic area is located in the central part of Wuxi City. It is in the bustling area of Wuxi. Together with Shanghai City God Temple, Nanjing Confucius Temple Qinhuai River Scenic Belt, and Suzhou Guanqian Street, it forms the four characteristic blocks in the south of the Yangtze River. There are many restaurants and large shopping malls here. Tourists come here mainly for shopping and enjoying delicious food. The scenic area is named after the Chong’an Temple that used to be located here. Chong’an Temple has a history of more than 1600 years, but now it no longer exists, leaving only the bustling commercial area around. If you want to taste traditional cuisine, you can go to restaurants such as Wangxingji, Gongdelin, and Huangting Delicious Food. If you want to go shopping, you can go to New World Department Store, Yaohan, Parkson, and also emerging commercial blocks such as Poly Plaza, Oriental Paris, Huijin Plaza, etc. If you are tired from walking, you can go to the park and take a seat. This is one of the parks that can be visited and played for free in China in the early years. Inside there are 24 scenic spots such as Fangtang Academy, thatched cottage on the pond, paying respects to the stone while wearing embroidered clothes, reminiscing in the thatched cottage, enjoying the greenery of the pine cliff, trying the spring water in the white water, listening to the music played on the orchid, and listening to the chirping of birds in the cherry grove. In front of the former site of Wuxi County Library, there is a statue of blind Abing playing the erhu. The famous erhu piece ‘The Moon Reflected on Second Spring’ was created by him. Beside it, there is Abing’s former residence which requires payment for visiting.
