The carvings depict a variety of subjects including dramatic stories, flowers, food, and cultural artifacts. The hall consists of three sections from the main hall to the inner residence, housing over 100 wood carvings, each with unique content. The carvings are characterized by their simplicity, clarity, vividness, and skillful craftsmanship, which leaves viewers in awe.
Additionally, Chongben Hall serves as a Jiangnan Water Town Marriage Customs Museum, displaying actual items used in traditional weddings such as clothing and dowries.
