The Lotus Expo Garden is adjacent to Mingzhu Lake Park in the east and Shanghai Chongming Xisha Wetland Park in the south. It is currently a large-scale lotus expo scenic area in Shanghai and at home and abroad that displays precious lotus varieties and has a large production and breeding scale. It is a place that integrates flower cultivation, flower viewing, flower appreciation, flower tasting and tea flower appreciation. It has multi-functional facilities such as lotus culture research, popular science education and ecological leisure tourism and entertainment. At present, the Chongming Lotus Expo Garden has built 100 flower viewing ponds (in various poses), 6 beautiful flower viewing pavilions (colorful and beautiful), a 200-meter flower tasting corridor (for relaxation and cultivation of the mind), a 2,000-square-meter colorful tea flower art product exhibition and shopping area, and a shed for four-season lotus viewing. There is also a 500-square-meter multi-functional tourist entertainment square for lotus fairies, a 3,000-square-meter lawn square for tourists to relax. At the same time, it is equipped with a 100-square-meter tourist reception center in the scenic area, a parking lot that can accommodate 400 parking spaces at one time, and other functions and projects. At present, more than 6,000 flower and tree seedlings such as osmanthus, ginkgo, begonia, and crape myrtle are planted in the Chongming Lotus Expo Garden. There are more than 360 varieties of ornamental lotus, fragrant lotus, and vegetable lotus. Among them, there are rare varieties such as ‘space lotus’ cultivated in space and ‘ancient lotus’ unearthed in Liaoning Province. There are hundreds of water lily varieties. At the same time, there are also fragrant water lily varieties with high medicinal value and various rare aquatic plants. Opening hours: From January 1st to September 2nd, it is open from 08:00 to 18:00; from September 3rd to October 10th, it is open from 08:00 to 22:00; from October 11th to December 31st, it is open from 08:00 to 18:00. Preferential policies: Children: Free for those under 6 years old (inclusive) or under 1.2 meters (inclusive) in height; those between 1.2 meters (exclusive) and 1.4 meters (inclusive) in height can get discounted tickets. Elderly: Free for those over 70 years old (inclusive) with senior citizen card or ID card; for Chinese tourists between 60 years old (inclusive) and 70 years old (exclusive), with senior citizen card or ID card, they can get discounted tickets. Active servicemen in China: Free with officer card or soldier card. Disabled people: Free with disability certificate.
