Chuansha Ancient Town boasts a history of over a thousand years since its formation, more than four hundred years since the construction of its city walls, and two hundred years since its establishment as a county. It still retains the complete layout of a square-shaped city surrounded by moats.
Chuansha was once a renowned ‘home of construction’ across the nation, earning the accolade of ‘a trowel travels the world.’ Within the ancient town, buildings such as the former residence of Tao Guisong, Yi De Hall, Yi Dao Hall, and Ding’s Garden showcase a blend of Chinese and Western architectural styles.
Chuansha has been the birthplace of many notable figures, including Huang Yanpei, literary scholar Hu Shi, and construction master Yang Sisheng, who made significant contributions to China’s revolution and construction.
