Confucius’ Six Arts City

Confucius’ Six Arts City is located in the urban area of Qufu, not far from the Confucius Temple and Mansion. It is themed around the ‘Six Arts’ (rites, music, archery, charioteering, calligraphy, and arithmetic) taught by Confucius in ancient times. The park utilizes ancient-style architecture, gardens, art, sculpture, and technological means such as sound and light to promote traditional Chinese culture. The scenic area is divided into two main parts: Confucius’ Six Arts City (Six Arts Cultural Experience Area) and Confucius’ Hometown Garden (Folklore Display Area). Here, you can experience ceremonies such as the city’s welcoming ceremony, initiation rites, and blessing ceremonies, as well as study Confucius’ Six Arts and perceive Confucian culture. Visitors can also participate in folk performances like waist drum beating, flower sedan chair carrying, Lu brocade spinning, and hemp cloth weaving. Additionally, the city offers shopping and dining services. The city’s architectural layout reflects the ancient Chinese cosmology of ’round sky and square earth’, with unique structures. Inside the city, there are beautiful garden designs, grand and culturally rich indoor attractions, exquisite and colorful amusement facilities, and distinctive ancient music and dance performances. The main attractions within the city include eight sites: Confucius’ Journey Among the States, Rites Hall, Calligraphy Hall, Charioteering Hall, Music Hall, Archery Hall, and Arithmetic Hall. Visitors can absorb the essence of traditional culture and appreciate the exquisite beauty of modern art in an educational and entertaining environment. Opening hours are from 09:00 to 16:00 all year round.
