The Grand Theatre of Cultural Palace is located in the Chongqing Workers’ Cultural Palace. It was formerly known as the Chongqing Workers’ Cultural Palace Cinema and Theatre. It was built in 1952. Covering an area of more than 5,000 square meters, it can accommodate 1,400 spectators. After the renovation in 1998, the sound, lighting and stage equipment of the grand theatre are advanced, equipped with large air conditioners for cooling and heating and soft seats. The grand theatre is attached with standard dressing rooms, reception rooms, elegant lounges and several luxurious conference rooms. The hardware facilities reach the advanced domestic level. The Grand Theatre of Cultural Palace has long been undertaking domestic and international cultural and artistic exchange activities.
