The museum is dedicated to the collection, preservation, research, documentation, display, and promotion of radio and movie machine culture. It aims to help the general public understand the significant role that radios and movie machines have played in social development in their daily lives and production. It provides a reference for people to learn about the principles of radios and the various types and conditions that have emerged under different historical and technological developments. Through meticulously designed exhibitions and comprehensive services, the museum inspires and stimulates the public’s interest in radios and movie machines. It also serves as a platform for radio and movie machine enthusiasts to learn and communicate with each other.
The museum broke ground on August 25, 2011, in the world-renowned artist village of ‘Tongzhou District Songzhuang Town Xiaopu Village’ and successfully topped out the main building on December 7, 2011. The museum spans six floors, with five above ground and one underground. The underground floor houses the collection storage and research rooms; the first floor contains the museum’s supporting facilities (museum service hall, café, etc.); the second floor is dedicated to the movie projector exhibition hall; the third floor is the radio exhibition hall; and the fourth and fifth floors are office areas.
The opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-12:00 and 13:00-17:00; closed all day on Mondays; and open on New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day from 09:00 to 17:00.Preferential policies:
