The Grand Ru Yi Sacred Realm is located on Xishan Island in Taihu Lake, Suzhou. It is adjacent to the vast Taihu Lake with 800 li of misty waves to the south and Piao Miao Peak, the first of the seventy-two peaks of Taihu Lake, to the north. Surrounded by mountain ranges resembling green dragons and white tigers on the east and west sides, it is embraced on both sides. Geographically, it is a Buddhist cultural holy land integrating incense burning and worshipping, natural landscapes, leisure vacations, and self-cultivation.


Xishan Island in Taihu Lake, Suzhou has been home to numerous temples since ancient times with prosperous incense offerings. It is a Buddhist holy land passed down through generations. The Grand Guanyin Monastery in the scenic area was originally built in the second year of Yuanjia in the Southern Dynasty (425 AD). It is an ancient Guanyin dojo in China and has an indissoluble bond with six emperors.


Scholars and literati through the ages have come here attracted by its reputation and left a large number of poems and inscriptions. The reconstructed Grand Guanyin Monastery on the original site is magnificent, exquisite and elegant. It completely subverts the style of traditional temples and represents the new trend of Buddhist art today. Opening hours: From July 1st to August 31st, it is open from 08:00 to 19:00; from September 1st to December 31st, it is open from 08:00 to 17:00.
