Da Ru Yi Sheng Jing is located on the West Mountain Island of Taihu Lake in Suzhou, facing the vast Taihu Lake to the south and backed by the highest peak of the Taihu Seventy-two Peaks, the ethereal Misty Peak, to the north. It is surrounded by mountains resembling the Azure Dragon and the White Tiger to the east and west, embodying a perfect geographical location that integrates burning incense and worshipping Buddha, natural scenery, leisure vacation, and self-cultivation, making it a sacred Buddhist cultural site. West Mountain Island of Taihu Lake in Suzhou has been home to numerous temples since ancient times, with thriving incense and a legacy as a sacred Buddhist land passed down through the generations.
The Da Guanyin Zen Temple within the scenic area, originally built in the second year of the Yuanjia period of the Southern Dynasty (425 AD), is an ancient site dedicated to Guanyin and has had an indissoluble bond with six emperors. Historically, many literati and poets have visited this place, leaving behind a wealth of poetic inscriptions. The newly rebuilt Da Guanyin Zen Temple, with its exquisite elegance and refined style, completely subverts the traditional temple style and represents the new trend in contemporary Buddhist art.
Opening hours are from 08:00 to 17:00 all year round.
