Dabieshan Grottoes Scenic Area is located in the eastern part of the Dabie Mountain Range, within the territory of Hongshan Village, Zhangdian Town, Jin’an District, Lu’an City, approximately 40km from the city center. The scenic area spans an area of 25 square kilometers, with a core scenic area of 15 square kilometers, featuring peculiar peaks, beautiful waters, lush vegetation, numerous historical sites, and legendary tales. The scenic area is divided into an East Gate and a North Gate, with the East Gate’s Vanilla Lake being about 6 kilometers from the North Gate’s grand loop. Inside the scenic area, there are grotesque rocks in various shapes and exquisitely crafted grotto clusters, as well as a fragrant Hundred Flower Garden in the secluded valley and a primitive ecological Phoebe nanmu group. The grottoes themselves are characterized by clear waters and beautiful scenery, with misty waves and blurred sail shadows, and the interplay of mountain colors and lake light.


Dabieshan Grottoes Scenic Area is one of the national geological park areas, with an elevation of 291 meters. The eastern and western mountains stretch for more than 3000 meters, and the southern and northern layers of mountains span more than 5000 meters. The main attractions of the scenic area include the primitive ecological forest, Phoebe nanmu forest, and the natural grand canyon—Bai Bu Yun Ti. Visitors can marvel at the grotto clusters that have been formed over hundreds of millions of years, appreciate the unique geological wonders, steep peaks, and secluded valleys, listen to the celestial music from the sky, visit the royal temples, taste celestial Buddha Zen tea, and savor the field cuisine. Stroll along the viewing plank road and enjoy the wonders of the world. Six mysteries are waiting for you to solve—divine chives on the cliff, ancient residential site ruins of the grottoes, unique geological wonders, mysterious cliff coffins, ancient city wall ruins, and thousand-year-old wooden stakes on the cliff.


Dabieshan Grottoes Scenic Area boasts beautiful mountains, lush forests, and peaks, with a forest coverage rate of over 98%. The air is fresh and refreshing, making it a natural oxygen bar. The scenic area is a complete geological natural unit formed by the erosion of water flow, weathering and peeling, and gravitational collapse of rocks and minerals from hundreds of millions of years ago. It is also a geological natural museum and a paradise for flora and fauna, rich in biological resources. Opening hours are from 08:00 to 17:00 all year round.


Preferential policies include discounts for the elderly aged 60 (inclusive) to 65 (exclusive) with an elderly card or ID card; free admission for those aged 65 (inclusive) and above with an elderly card. Students with full-time undergraduate or lower degrees (with a student ID) receive discounts. Children under 1.2 meters (inclusive) enter for free.
