Dabieshan Rainbow Waterfall is located 34 kilometers away from both Yuexi County and Huoshan County. The Monkey River traverses the scenic area, forming a canyon, and converges with the Huangwei River within the area. The river is dotted with numerous islets, creating a picturesque gallery of thousands of meters of landscapes. The highlight of the area is the Rainbow Waterfall, which stands at a height of 80 meters and a width of 25 meters.
The waterfall cascades into a pool, creating a fine mist of water droplets with an imposing presence. On a sunny day, one can witness a rainbow in front of the waterfall. The scenic area runs east to west, with the entrance at the eastern end. The Zhonghezhou in the Monkey River is where the visitor service center is located, featuring a restaurant and shopping center. Moving westward to the confluence of the Huangwei and Monkey Rivers, one can find the Shuangfengzhou islet. Further ahead lies the ancient yet modest Dragon King Temple, and beyond that lies the Rainbow Waterfall. The terrain of this section is flat, making it easy for visitors to explore. Behind the Rainbow Waterfall is the canyon part of the Monkey River, where one can walk on the cliff-hugging suspended plank road. After touring the Monkey River Canyon, visitors can return to the main entrance of the scenic area. In addition to natural scenery, there are several paid entertainment activities within the scenic area, such as paintball on Shuangfengzhou, rock climbing and zip-lining in the Monkey River Canyon, and rafting from 300 meters below the Rainbow Waterfall to the visitor service center dock during summer. Opening hours are from March 16th to November 15th, 08:00-17:00 and from November 16th to March 15th, 08:00-17:00.Preferential policies: Children under 1.2 meters (inclusive) enter for free; children between 1.2 meters (exclusive) and 1.5 meters (inclusive) receive a discount. Elderly aged 65 and above enter for free with a valid senior citizen card or ID; those aged between 60 and 65 receive a discount. Disabled individuals enter for free with a valid disability certificate. Journalists with a valid press card issued by the State Press and Publication Administration enter for free. Tour guides with a valid guide certificate enter for free. Active military personnel with an officer’s certificate enter for free. Full-time students of primary, middle, and high schools (excluding adult education and graduate students) receive a discount with a student ID.
