Dacheng Hall of Changzhou Confucian Temple

The Dacheng Hall was originally the school palace of Yanghu County. It was first built in the first year of Xianchun in the Song Dynasty (1265). Constructions and repairs were carried out in various dynasties. The existing Dacheng Hall was rebuilt in 1867 (the sixth year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty). The hall has a single-eaved hip roof. It is five bays wide, 22.8 meters wide and 16 meters deep, solemn and simple. In front of the hall is the Dacheng Gate with three bays. It is a hard mountain top wooden structure. There are three steles for rebuilding the Confucian Temple embedded in the wall. The relics of the泮 pool and stone bridge in front of the Dacheng Gate are well preserved. It is a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit.
