Daciyan is located 24 kilometers south of Jiande City. There is a glittering double-sided Buddha statue on the mountain. The temple building on the mountainside is half embedded in the rock belly and half suspended in the air. It is similar to the Hanging Temple on Mount Hengshan and is therefore also known as the ‘Hanging Temple in Jiangnan’. The word ‘suspended’ is reflected everywhere in the scenic area.
The plank roads, temples and Buddha statues are all built along the steep cliff walls. Although most of them are rebuilt, people still can’t help but marvel at the creativity of the ancients. Tour route: The tour route in the scenic area is roughly a loop. When visiting Daciyan, it is recommended to take the cable car up the mountain and then walk down the mountain counterclockwise to save time and effort. After going up the mountain, there are still up and down mountain roads to walk. Some places are not shaded and it will be relatively sunny in summer. The pleasure of the entire tour is walking along the winding plank road by the cliff wall and admiring the footpaths, temples, Buddha statues embedded in the mountain, as well as the continuous green mountains and the tiny towns at the foot of the mountain in the distance. The scene is very spectacular. Suspended plank road: From afar at the foot of the mountain, you can see the glittering double-sided Buddha statue on the top of the mountain. After getting off the cable car and walking a short distance on the mountain road is the suspended plank road. The plank road is a good place to take panoramic photos of the main buildings of Daciyan. Don’t miss it. After walking through the plank road, don’t forget to turn back and take a close-up photo of the plank road. The cornice corridor pavilion attached to the mountainside can also be regarded as a landmark landscape of Daciyan. Continuing to walk for a while, the natural standing Buddha is another feature here. Looking from the side, the main peak of Daciyan is extremely like a standing statue of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. Strange stones, strange caves and vegetation are harmoniously combined to form the facial features of the big Buddha. Tourists will invariably stop and watch it. Inside the temple: The double-sided Buddha statue and the Great Hall of Ksitigarbha are major highlights. Tourists can follow the plank road all the way to see the double-sided Buddha statue up close, or they can go to the Great Hall of Ksitigarbha to worship Buddha and pray for blessings. Under the cherry tree behind the Tianmen, the branches are covered with red ribbons for people’s blessings, exuding the secluded and serene temperament of Buddhism. The statues in the Arhat Hall are also quite vivid. After visiting the Great Hall of Ksitigarbha and exiting the temple gate, there is a footpath on the right hand side to go down the mountain (about 30 minutes). The footpath is relatively hidden. If you can’t find it, you can ask the staff. The scenery on the way down the mountain is also good, accompanied by a stream. In October when the ginkgo leaves turn yellow, the scenery is even more charming. If you want to take the cable car down the mountain, you need to return to the upper cable car station along the original route. In addition, Xinyegucun, the shooting location of ‘Where Are We Going, Dad?’ in 2014, is not far from Daciyan and can be visited together. Looking at old houses, visiting ancient villages and experiencing the entertainment projects of the’same style as celebrities’ is a great feeling.Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:00 to 16:00; Open all year round from 07:30 to 16:00.
