This painting, created in harmony with the universe and its inhabitants. To those who pass by, the sight of cyan and green is enough!’ Produced jointly by the Palace Museum, China Oriental Performing Arts Group Co., Ltd., and People’s Daily Online Co., Ltd., and co-produced by Yu Shang He Mei Cultural Development Co., Ltd., the dance poem drama ‘Only This Cyan’ – a dance interpretation of ‘Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains’, directed by Zhou Liya and Han Zhen, once again unfolds with a shocking impact. The performance is based on the legendary work of the Northern Song Dynasty painter Xi Meng, ‘Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains’, and through the integration of various artistic elements such as dance, music, and literature, it vividly presents the profoundness and endless charm of China’s excellent traditional culture. As a dance poem drama with deep cultural connotations and high artistic standards, ‘Only This Cyan’ has won widespread acclaim from audiences since its premiere for its unique narrative style and soul-stirring performances. It has been consistently refined in artistic quality and has become a sought-after performance with a thriving market reputation. The stage recreates the aesthetics of the Great Song Dynasty, connecting the stillness and movement across millennia, offering audiences an immersive ‘viewing of paintings’ experience. If the survival of the painting to this day is a historical accident, then the millennia-long-lasting colors are the inevitable result of numerous traditional Chinese crafts. This drama is also a tribute to the nameless craftsmen who have contributed to the ‘green mountains and clear waters’ that the inheritors of the 5,000-year Chinese civilization have collectively achieved, allowing people today to appreciate their legacy! Open from January 9th to January 12th, Thursday to Sunday, subject to the on-site schedule.
