Located within the jurisdiction of Tinghu District in Yancheng City, the Danding Crane Wetland Ecological Tourism Area covers an area of 16,000 acres and is part of the Jiangsu Yancheng National Nature Reserve for Rare Birds. Known for its beautiful natural scenery and reputation as the ‘Pearl of the Yellow Sea, Ecological Corridor,’ it is one of the new top ten scenic spots in Yancheng City. The tourism area has successively been established as a Jiangsu Province Science Popularization Education Base, a Jiangsu Province Ecological Tourism Demonstration Area, a National Environmental Protection Science Popularization Base, a National Ecological Environment Science Popularization Base, a National Forest and Grassland Science Popularization Base, a National Youth Nature Education Green Campsite, a National AAAA-level Tourist Attraction, and was included in the World Natural Heritage Site in 2019. A song, ‘A True Story,’ is widely sung across the country, telling the touching story of martyr Xu Xiujuan, who, in an attempt to rescue two lost swans, unfortunately drowned and sacrificed her life. At the age of 23, she became the ‘Crane Fairy,’ eternally protecting this pure land and its birds. She defended ecological civilization with her life and is forever remembered by the times. The scenic area includes attractions such as the Danding Crane Museum, Waterfowl Lake, Danding Crane Rescue and Breeding Center, Rare Bird Garden, Ecological Eye, and Reed Marsh Egret Trace, which are open all year round from 09:00 to 17:00, with open areas including the Waterfowl Lake, Danding Crane Rescue and Breeding Center, and the water亲近栈道.
