Dangkou, historically known as Ding She, is reputed to be the hometown of Dong Han filial son Ding Lan, named after its location at the mouth of the goose’s gizzard pond. The ancient town is situated in the southeast of Wuxi, within the boundaries of Ehu Town, adjacent to the tombs of the Yue State and Taibo Tomb in the west, and bordering Suzhou and Changshu in the east.
