Dehua Tang Ancient Bed Museum houses over 300 ancient beds from across China, making it the largest private specialized museum of ancient beds in the country. Since the Ming and Qing dynasties, the museum has been collecting ancient beds of various materials and regions, preserving a clear historical context and orderly succession. The Ming dynasty Jin Si Nanmu bed is known for its simple and generous design, with a balanced proportion, creating a natural beauty that embodies the phrase ‘unadorned as nature, fresh as a lotus from clear water’.

The Qing dynasty’s Ba Bu bed, known as ‘bed within a bed, canopy within a canopy’, is especially exemplified by the Chaozhou bed, reflecting a style that is grand, intricate, and vibrant. These beds gather superior materials, feature exquisite carving techniques, and carry auspicious meanings, nourishing both the heart and spirit. The simplicity and practicality of the ‘pian bed’, along with its diverse artistic interest, have pushed Chinese ancient bed culture to new heights, fully embodying the personality of traditional Chinese culture.
