Despair Slope is located in Tianping Mountain, Suzhou, with an elevation of 201 meters. The mountain is known for its steep and precipitous terrain, which is both dangerous and fascinating. Historically, it was called Baiyun Mountain and also known as Ci Mountain. It is the burial site of the ancestors of Fan Zhongyan, a famous official from the Northern Song Dynasty.
