The ‘One Reed Crossing’ Dharma Grotto Light and Shadow Art Museum is located on Mufu Mountain in Nanjing. In 2016, during the restoration period of the Mufu Mountain quarry, Professor Sun Jiabin designed more than a hundred Dharma statues of various shapes, restoring and reconstructing the Zen culture-themed ‘Hundred Postures of Dharma’ grotto. In 2023, created by many artists, through immersive light and shadow art, ‘Changeable Dharma’ is presented in the Hundred Postures of Dharma grotto, reproducing the wonderful and magnificent scene of ‘crossing the river on a reed’.

The light and shadow art of ‘One Reed Crossing’ inherits the visual effects of Oriental aesthetics. Relying on the legendary story of Dharma and combining the spatial form of the thousand-square-meter cave, it creatively uses light and shadow technologies such as 3D Mapping, AIGC, and Arc GIS topology. With ‘crossing’ as the experience clue, it innovatively creates eight artistic ‘light’ spaces. See the legendary light and shadow in the light of enlightenment, appreciate the huge Dharma statue in the blazing light, see the gushing Zhuoxi spring in the dust-washing light, taste the realm on the other side in the wall-facing light, interact with time and space in the awakening light, sigh at the boundless starry river in the Primordial light, feel the passage of time like a shuttle in the Epoch light, and cross the boundless world in the light of wisdom.

Wandering among them, by the Yangtze River and in Mufu Mountain, watch a legendary story about Dharma, enjoy an aesthetic feast of the Six Dynasties that amazes time, and embark on a journey of grotto light and shadow art that traverses thousands of years of time and space.
