Dianshan Lake Scenic Area boasts a serene environment with a misty waterfront, embodying the charm of the Jiangnan water towns. It is connected to Lake Tai in the west and Huangpu River in the east. The scenic area is bisected by the Qingshang Highway, dividing the tourist area into eastern and western parts.
The eastern half is a natural scenic spot, featuring a 100-meter-long artificial embankment known as ‘Willow Embankment in Spring Dawn’. The embankment is adorned with lush willows and vibrant flowers, offering a panoramic view of Dianshan Lake.
The western half of the area is an antique-style street named ‘Shi Cheng Gu Feng’, which serves as a place for visitors to access living services.
Surrounding the Dianshan Lake Scenic Area, there is a wealth of historical and cultural landscapes, such as the Songze Ancient Cultural Site and Tang Village Ancient Cultural Site. There are also numerous ancient architectural structures, including the Qinglong Temple from the Tang Dynasty.
Adjacent to the lake, there is a ‘Water Sports Field’, which serves as an international rowing and kayaking training and competition venue. On the east side of the lake, there are water sports fields, yacht clubs, golf courses, and fishing clubs for visitors to enjoy.
The scenic area is located away from the city center with light traffic, making it ideal for family weekend short self-driving tours. It is open all year round, accessible 24/7.
