Dingshan Temple, renowned as the first ancient temple in the Jiangbei region, stands on par with famous temples such as Qixia Temple and Jiming Temple in the Jiangnan area. It is also recognized as the birthplace of Chinese Zen Buddhism and the site of the initial patriarchal court. The founder of Zen Buddhism, Bodhidharma, once resided at Dingshan Temple, leaving behind the myth of Zhuoxi Spring and numerous historical relics that have stood the test of time.
