From August 3rd to 11th, 2024, the inaugural Dongbuzhou International Art Festival will take place in Dongbuzhou, Linjiang New District, Haimen, Nantong, Jiangsu. With the theme of ‘Emergence’, the festival uses puppetry as a medium and has specially invited ATYA Asian Children and Youth Art Festival and Theatre Alliance as the art consulting team. It is structured into four major sections: ‘Theatrical Performances’, ‘Art Discussions’, ‘Exhibition Highlights’, and ‘Local Integration’, creating an artistic journey that combines cultural arts, international perspectives, public culture, and local culture.
Over the course of nine days, more than 30 high-quality plays brought by non-heritage troupes from around the world and within China will be performed over 100 times on various distinctive stages in Dongbuzhou. The festival gathers a diverse range of content such as music, shadow puppetry, creative puppets, and luminous giant puppets to provide audiences with a rich sensory experience. In addition to this, art discussions, exhibition highlights, and local integration will also take place continuously, inviting all parent-child families to open their imagination and explore the ocean of art together.
