Donghuamen, the eastern gate of the Ming Dynasty’s Imperial Palace in Nanjing, stands opposite to the Xihua Gate and is one of the better-preserved palace gates in Nanjing today. It has been transformed into the Donghuamen Ruins Park and is designated as a National Key Cultural Relic Protection Unit.
The Donghuamen Ruins Square exhibits distinct traces of city wall demolitions on its north and south sides. The Yifeng Pavilion, which once stood atop the city gate, no longer exists and has suffered damage. The southern gate passage retains the Ming Dynasty’s road surface, and the top of the city gate has the stone foundation of the Ming Dynasty’s Yifeng Pavilion, with clear remnants of the corridor, which holds significant historical value. Opening hours: January 1st to December 31st, open all day long.Donghuamen Ruins Square
