Dongping National Forest Park is located in the middle of Chongming Island. It is lush with trees and has fresh air, far from the hustle and bustle of the urban area. You can invite a few friends to have a barbecue here or rent a bicycle to ride around the park. It is also a good place to escape the summer heat. If there are many people, you can also play paintball. Children can play amusement facilities such as bumper cars and carousel.

The forest park has two gates, namely the No. 1 main entrance on the south side and the No. 2 gate on the southwest side, both of which can be entered. The park is relatively large. Many tourists will choose to rent bicycles at the entrance for transportation. Generally, it takes two hours to ride around the park by bicycle. You can also take an electric car or a small train to circle the park, which is more time-saving and labor-saving.

Entering the park from the No. 1 gate, most of the entertainment facilities and experience projects are concentrated on the right side, including paintball shooting, archery, horseback riding, go-karting, grass skiing, etc., as well as water entertainment such as pedal boats and water walking balls. The park also has nurseries such as osmanthus garden, plum blossom garden, cherry blossom garden, bamboo garden, and maple garden.

There are different flower and plant species to be admired in different seasons. Especially in late autumn, the large groups of bright red metasequoia forests in the park are very eye-catching. The abandoned J-6 aircraft submerged in the metasequoia forests exudes the heroic spirit of the past. The silver fuselage is accompanied by the swaying metasequoia trees, presenting a shocking beauty of hardness and softness.

The sika deer farm on the west side of the park has free-range and captive sika deer. Children can feed the fawns by hand, which is very interesting. In addition, there is a barbecue area and camping base deep in the park. Having a self-service barbecue in the forest is very rustic. You can bring your own ingredients or buy ingredients in the barbecue area. The park provides rentals of items such as barbecue grills, but try to avoid holidays when there are very many people in the barbecue area.

You can also bring a tent and lie down and rest on the large lawn. You can even spend the night in the camping area and experience wild life once. The park also rents out tents and sleeping bags.

Sika deer. It is one of the mascots in ancient China and also a protected animal in our country now. Because the Chinese character for ‘deer’ is homophonic with ‘wealth’, it symbolizes affluence and is deeply loved by people.

Karting. Drive a racing car on the wide track and feel the joy of speed and overtaking. Bathed in the natural forest oxygen bar with an extremely high negative ion level, all sports are a journey of ‘lung cleansing’.

Dragon Soaring out to Sea. Sitting on the back of the ‘dragon’, as the dragon body rises and falls from time to time, one can feel the astonishing sense of ‘vigorous as a dragon and a tiger leaping’. There is a good momentum of ‘the spirit of a dragon horse’.

Hurricane Flying Chair. You will sway up and down with the flying chair and experience the fun of free flight and soaring through the clouds.

Paintball Target Shooting. Friends, come and try your skills quickly and see if you can shoot with great accuracy and hit the enemy from a thousand miles away.
