Dongpo Garden, located on the banks of the ancient Grand Canal in Changzhou, features the classic Jiangnan garden style, with an environment that exudes an ancient and elegant charm.
The treasure of the garden, the Yizhou Pavilion, is said to have been originally built during the Southern Song Dynasty. Su Dongpo, a renowned poet, visited Changzhou 11 times and often disembarked here. The garden was expanded from the Yizhou Pavilion in 1954, and the pavilion that visitors see today was reconstructed in 1984.

The Yizhou Pavilion, with its double eaves and nine ridges at the four corners, is situated on a high point within the garden. It is adorned with exquisite brick and wood carvings, and the pavilion’s roof features a design of two dragons playing with a pearl, as well as patterns of ancient pines, immortal cranes, and dragons swimming with fish, all of which hold significant artistic value.
