Dongsha Lake Ecological Park is currently one of the larger parks in Suzhou Industrial Park. It covers an area of 1.21 million square meters, with a land area of 670,000 square meters and a water area of 540,000 square meters.
The park is not only adorned with the scenery created by thousands of planted trees but also equipped with landscape bridges, pebble beaches, viewing pavilions, beautiful water plank roads, and 30,000 square meters of hard ground surfaces. Complemented by a set of fountains, lighting, sound, tea rooms, toilets, and other living facilities, it provides convenience for visitors. The design of the landscape bridges is particularly distinctive, with 15 bridges each having a unique design. Bridge No. 1, spanning from east to west like a rainbow, is particularly eye-catching, resembling a colorful cloud or a flying rainbow. On the cherry blossom island, four differently styled walkways have been set up. Bridge No. 3 is specially designed for the blind, equipped with tactile paving and barriers for the visually impaired, facilitating their enjoyment of Dongsha Lake.
On the east bank of the lake, elements of Suzhou gardens have been integrated into the landscape. Locally produced yellow stones have been used to create a group of yellow stone rockeries with varying heights and peaks, resembling layered mountains. Climbing plants such as trumpet creepers and ivy have been planted in the crevices between the stones, making the rockeries more natural and lush. The construction of the beautiful water plank road adds a touch of charm. A 15,000 square meter wooden plank road has been built along the water, providing a unique experience for those who walk on it.The park is open all year round.
