Xuyi Dongyang City is an ancient city site that has been well-preserved through surveys. The earthen city walls are connected inside and outside, covering a total area of 15 square kilometers. It was originally built during the Qin Dynasty and continued to be used during the Two Han Dynasties. The city has yielded a wealth of artifacts from the Qin and Han periods, including a bronze weight inscribed with Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s decree from the 26th year, Ban Liang coins, Wu Zhu coins, patterned square bricks, cloud pattern and animal face pattern tiles, as well as a large number of pottery vessels, reflecting the prosperity of the city at that time.
