East China University of Political Science and Law, formerly known as East China College of Political Science and Law, was renamed in 2007 and has two campuses, Changning and Songjiang, with a total area of over 1300 acres. The Changning Campus, originally known as St. John’s University, was a prestigious institution in modern Chinese history. The campus scenery is imbued with the style of mission schools from that era, especially the central Taofen Building, with its red brick facade and central courtyard, which has been a popular filming location for television dramas set in modern universities. The university may not be open to the public.
