Yongcui Mountain Villa is located inside the second mountain gate of Yunyan Temple in Huqiu. Built in the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, it covers an area of about one mu. It makes use of the mountain terrain and ascends from south to north in four layers. The entrance has a high wall and long stone steps. Passing the front hall, Baowengxuan, and ascending from the northeast corner of the backyard to Wenquan Pavilion.
From here, one can overlook the second mountain gate and the scenery to the east. Leaning against the wall on the west side are Yuejiaxuan and two small buildings on the left and right, which are exquisitely small. Following the winding steps and going north is the main hall, Linglan Jingshe. There are platforms in front of and on the east side of this hall. Linglan Jingshe and Songqing behind it form a courtyard area with a simple and neat layout. Through the west door of the hall, one can reach under the Huqiu Tower. This garden has no water, but relying on the height of the terrain, buildings, stone peaks, stone steps, and flowers and trees are arranged in a tortuous and charming way. It can also borrow the scenery outside the garden. One can have a close view of Huqiu and a distant view of Lion Mountain. It is a relatively successful example of building a garden in a scenic area.Opening hours: Open all day throughout the year.
