### Step 2: The ‘Qi Lu Line’ – A Self-Driving Summer Escape
North of Beijing, there is a self-driving summer escape route called the ‘Qi Lu Line’, which is not the ‘Qi Lu’ of Shandong, but a fantastic journey through the grassland, rivers, forests, and pastures, connecting the colorful forests of Fengning Bashang Grassland, the First Grassland North of Beijing, the Great Khan’s Palace, and the Hansulu International Ecological Ranch.

### Step 3: The First Grassland North of Beijing
**Cultural Experience:**
The First Grassland North of Beijing is about 180 kilometers north of Beijing, approximately 90 kilometers from Fengning County. Every July and August, the temperature is around 18 degrees, which is the peak season for grassland tourism. Here, the grass is lush, wildflowers are everywhere, and there is a rich Manchu-Mongolian ethnic culture.
**Grassland Resort Activities:**
The grassland resort has yurts and tents for tourists to stay and eat. It offers activities such as horseback riding, picnics, and bonfires. There are also activities such as horse races and wrestling.
**The Khan Palace Experience:**
The Khan Palace in Jingbei Grassland, a great place to learn about the history of Mongolian tribes. The Khan Palace is rebuilt on the historical site where Genghis Khan stationed troops and practiced martial arts whenThe Nomadic Tribe Impression Hall in Chengde’s Jingbei First Grassland is very good! It allows us to see the scene where Genghis Khan arranged his troops and formations back then. It allows us to appreciate the heroic and invincible momentum of the Mongolian cavalry. In addition to being a great place to learn about the history of Mongolian tribes, changing clothes and taking photos for check-ins is also a good choice. Impressive and very exciting. Roughly speaking, when you come to play in Jingbei First Grassland, you can come here for lunch at noon. Because on the second floor of the Impression Hall, all the characteristic delicacies here on Fengning Bashang are displayed in the form of food street stalls. For the price of a buffet, you can come in and eat freely. Take whatever you like. There are about fifteen or sixteen varieties including steamed dumplings, oat noodles, fried cakes, lamb soup, meat pies, and milk tea. It’s very easy to eat until you’re full! After eating, go down to the first floor. It’s again in the mode of a specialty store in a circular formation. Local specialties such as beef jerky, pot tea, milk tea, milk tablets, and milk strips are all available. There is also the specially recommended Niu Qi Chong Tian Bing Bing milk cake for relieving the summer heat and cooling down. In short, the experience is good and quite interesting!
We left Chengde and came to Hansulu deep in the Ulan Butong Grassland. Hansulu International Ecological Ranch is located in Haolaihure Sumu, Hexigten Banner. ‘Hansulu’ in Mongolian means ‘royal’. During the Qing Dynasty, it was a ranch where Mongolian princes fattened cattle and sheep for tribute to the court. It is closely connected to the famous ancient battlefield of Ulan Butong. Hansulu belongs to the interlaced zone of mountain meadow grassland and hilly meadow grassland, presenting a unique European-style grassland scenery. Hansulu International Ecological Ranch is 450, 260, and 300 kilometers away from Beijing, Chengde, and Chifeng respectively. It is a light luxury original ecological vacation ranch with sightseeing, experience, parent-child activities, research and study, camping, and photography as themes.
