Among them, the Humble Administrator’s Garden is one of the renowned classical gardens in Suzhou, where wintersweet flowers are predominantly found south of the Listening to the Rain Pavilion, east of the Eighteen Arhat Flower Pavilion, and west of the Floating Jade Pavilion. When in bloom, the fragrance is subtle yet captivating, and the beauty is overwhelming.
In the Lingering Garden, wintersweet flowers are scattered throughout the eastern and western gardens, with the western garden housing the garden’s largest wintersweet tree, known for its large and abundant flowers, and its delightful fragrance.
Wintersweet flowers in the Lion Grove Garden stand against the frost and snow, exuding a rich yet clear scent that remains fresh and does not wither easily, providing visitors with a sense of tranquility and pleasure.
In the Master of the Nets Garden, a wintersweet plant can be found on the yellow stone rockeries beside the central pond, with its branches sprawling and its flower shape being particularly beautiful.
Wintersweet flowers are also planted at the small courtyard in front of the Ladder Cloud Chamber, in front of the Small Hill Cassia Pavilion, in front of the Five Peaks Study, and in the patio behind the Dian Spring Pavilion.
At the Surging Wave Pavilion, wintersweet flowers peek out beyond the white corridor walls, with each window reflecting a branch of flowers, filling the garden with a refreshing fragrance.
