Expo Culture Park is located in the core area of Pudong Binjiang, adjacent to the Huangpu River in the northwest, extending to the Lupu Bridge and Changqing North Road in the east, and reaching Tongyao Road and Longbin Road in the south, covering an area of approximately 2 square kilometers. Positioned as an ecological, sustainable, culturally integrated, and innovative world-class city center park where citizens gather and share, Expo Culture Park integrates the existing Hou Tan Wetland Park and renovates four preserved venues from the Expo. It also constructs new facilities such as the Expo Garden, Shen Garden, Twin Hills, Shanghai Greenhouse, World Floriade Garden, and the Grand Opera House, as well as the International Equestrian Center, creating a unique riverside park green space in the downtown area of Shanghai.

The park is characterized by historical water systems, industrial memories, and Expo textures, layered with forests, wetlands, and lawns, forming a multi-layered landscape structure system of ‘water, surface, culture, and nature.’ The landscape extension of Expo texture realizes the continuation of the Expo spirit, showcasing the transformation from the Expo park to an urban center ecological experience area. Mountain arrangement and water management strive for natural integration, incorporating Jiangnan cultural elements, and showcasing the characteristics of Jiangnan gardens in the form of a garden within a garden in Shen Garden, depicting the symbiosis of forests and gardens. The Seven-Colored Forest, composed of preserved and newly planted trees, paints a continuous picture from the urban forest to the natural forest.

The newly opened North District of the park covers an area of 85 hectares and is mainly composed of landscape areas and attractions such as the Dancing Plaza, Silent Forest, Time Mark Avenue, Expo Garden, Music Forest, Central Lake, Hou Tan Binjiang, and Shen Garden. The park is open all year round, 24 hours a day.
