The Expo Museum is not only the first truly international museum in China, but also a unique museum in the world that comprehensively displays Expo-themed exhibitions. The architectural design theme of the Expo Museum is ‘Expo Memories’ and ‘Urban Life’, which is interpreted by two images: the ‘Historical Valley’ representing history, meditation and eternity, and the ‘Cloud of Celebration’ representing the future, openness and instantaneity.
The exhibition area of the museum is about 12,000 square meters, and there are 8 permanent exhibition halls and 3 temporary exhibition halls. Halls 1-4 of the permanent exhibition halls mainly display the development status and historical features of the World Expo from 1851 to 2008. The exhibition contents of Halls 5-7 revolve around the 2010 Shanghai World Expo in China. Hall 8 mainly presents the wonderful contents of the future World Expos that continue after the 2010 World Expo.Opening hours: From February 1st to December 31st, closed all day on Monday; from February 1st to December 31st, open from 09:00 to 17:00 on Tuesday to Sunday.
