Fangshan Baicaobian Scenic Area is approximately 110 kilometers away from the center of Beijing. Visitors can enjoy the alpine meadows covered with wildflowers, the grand and spectacular layers of mountains, the lush ancient pine forests, and the sea of clouds that frequently appears in the mountains. The natural scenery is exceptionally beautiful, making it a delightful place for sightseeing, photography, and breathing fresh air.
Before your visit, it’s important to note that Fangshan Baicaobian Nature Scenic Area shares the same name with Hebei Baoding Yesanpo Baicaobian Scenic Area. Additionally, many tourists may confuse Mentougou Baihuashan Nature Reserve and Fangshan Baihuashan Scenic Area with these two. In fact, all these scenic areas are located in the Baihua Mountain Range, which has a main peak on both the Beijing and Hebei sides. Beijing Fangshan Baicaobian Nature Scenic Area is on the Beijing side of the main peak, and Mentougou Baihuashan Nature Reserve and Fangshan Baihuashan Scenic Area are also on this peak, making it a single peak with three scenic areas on three sides, all of which are connected at the summit. However, Yesanpo Baicaobian Scenic Area is on the Hebei side and is a separate scenic area, not connected to the other three. Baihuashan’s Hundred Flowers Meadow is on the Beijing side and can be reached from the three scenic areas on the Beijing side, but not from Yesanpo Baicaobian Scenic Area. Yesanpo’s alpine meadow is a different concept, so it’s important to distinguish between them before visiting. Overview of the visit to Fangshan Baicaobian Nature Scenic Area is built relying on one of the main peaks of Baihua Mountain, Wuzhi Peak. There are about 15 kilometers of mountain roads from the entrance of the scenic area to the summit. The scenic area has shuttle buses available, which run directly from the base to the summit, and the bus tickets are mandatory to purchase. The shuttle buses operate on a loop, allowing visitors to take the next bus at any time after their visit. The bus does not stop at any points in the mountains (if you choose to walk halfway and want to take the bus, you can flag it down, and it will stop if there are available seats). The main activity in the scenic area is to take the shuttle bus to the summit and explore the attractions such as the Pine Sea and Forest Waves, Pine Forest Ant Hills, and Angry Stone Descent. Then, it takes about an hour’s walk to reach the Hundred Flowers Meadow. After enjoying the meadow, you can return to the bus stop and take the bus back to the entrance of the scenic area. The general visiting time is about 4 hours. At the Wuzhi Peak, which is a high point in the area, you can look down and see the layers of mountains and the winding roads that twist and turn around the mountains, which is very spectacular. The main attractions here are the Pine Sea and Forest Waves and the Pine Forest Ant Hills, which are actually the same place. There is a lush pine forest here, and walking among the trees feels cool and comfortable under the shade. The ground around is dotted with ant hills that rise more than half a meter above the ground, which is quite magical. It takes about an hour to walk from the summit to the Hundred Flowers Meadow. The Hundred Flowers Meadow is the essence of the entire scenic area. From June to August each year, wildflowers bloom on the alpine meadows, with colorful flowers covering the grassland, making the scenery very beautiful. It’s great for sightseeing and photography here.In autumn, this place is golden and the landscape is extremely beautiful. Additionally, there are often wonders such as sea of clouds, which are great for taking photos. Accommodation and dining: If traveling on weekends, you can consider staying overnight in the suburbs. ) There are several guesthouses and many farmhouses in the village. The standard room price of guesthouses is around 200-300 yuan, and the conditions are good. The rooms in farmhouses are about 100-150 yuan, and there are also bathing facilities. Dining is also recommended at local farms. It is slightly more expensive than ordinary restaurants, but compared to other tourist attractions, it is still affordable. You can taste farmhouse dishes and experience the authentic rural life.
