Shenquan Gorge Scenic Area is located in Tanchang Village, Miaofengshan Town, Mentougou District, Beijing, covering an area of approximately 15 square kilometers. With a theme of mountains, waters, and pastoral scenery, it integrates fruit picking, mountain climbing, picnicking, and leisure activities. It is adjacent to several tourist attractions including Lingxi Ecological Education Corridor, Longshuihu Water World, Huangtai Cherry Garden, Weidian Hundred Fruit Garden, Chanfang Ancient Village, and the Zhongfen Ecological Valley, which has signed an investment of 10 billion euros.

The scenic area echoes the famous Miaofeng Mountain Scenic Area, with winding gorges, tranquil and green river water, steep cliffs, dense forests, and embodies the grandeur and magnificence of the northern landscape. Springs and gorges crisscross, with the water converging and flowing downwards, hence the name Shenquan, and the water eventually merges into the Yongding River. The scenic area boasts beautiful mountain scenery and abundant spring resources, with clear waters, lush forests, high mountains, deep valleys, and gurgling streams.

Unique volcanic rock geological structures have created many peculiar landscapes, and it is said that a camel bell ancient road passes through the west to the grasslands outside the pass. Streams flow throughout the four seasons in the scenic area, forming numerous ponds and dams for visitors to tour and fish. The landscapes within the scenic area include: Baimu Garden, Luoluo Stone, General Stone, Red Stone Valley, Lava Terrace, Camel Cliff, Immortal Cliff, Fairy Pool, Peking University Lake, Stone Gate, Red Stone Spring, Red Stone Wall, Stone Hut Cave, Ancient Planked Road, A Thread of Sky, and Goddess Peak.

In recent years, Miaofengshan Town has focused on ecological tourism and has developed tourist attractions such as ten thousand mu rose garden, China’s hundred jujube garden, thousand mu cherry garden, ostrich breeding and sightseeing garden, thousand mu Beijing white pear base, thousand mu persimmon base, and thousand mu apricot flat base, forming a unique view of ‘mountains on all sides are like paintings, and there is not a day in a year without flowers to see’.

Opening Hours: The scenic area is open all year round from 08:00 to 17:00.
