Below the west of South Heavenly Gate and on the top of Zhujie Ridge. To the south is Mopanding. It is surrounded by mountain roads. The middle part rises like a millstone, hence the name. To the north are Jizui Stone and Yueya Stone. The two peaks stand opposite each other, presenting a concave-shaped mountain terrain. It is like two open doors. The mountain terrain in the east and west is quite open and it is a place where wind gathers. The mountain people call this place ‘Fengmenkou’. In 1998, the administrative office of Huaguoshan Scenic Area made the best use of the local conditions and built the ‘Fengmen Pavilion’ at the center of this concave-shaped area. In the inscription, the famous poem ‘Halfway up the ridge, clouds swallow and bamboo trees are dim’ written by national hero Lin Zexu when he visited Huaguoshan is appropriately quoted. It provides a place for tourists to rest, view and savor here to enhance their pleasure and elegance.
