The former residence of martyr Lu Bingshu is located in Gongguan Alley, Liangduo Town, Dongtai City. There are currently three main rooms, three east wing rooms, three west side rooms and a suite. It is well-preserved and is a cultural relic protection unit in Dongtai City. Lu Bingshu, courtesy name Yuheng, was born in 1902. His father, Lu Shaoxiang, was a scholar in the late Qing Dynasty and edited the ‘Dongtai County Annals’. Lu Bingshu was intelligent and studious since childhood and made great efforts to progress. He graduated from Nantong Traditional Chinese Medicine College founded by Zhang Jian and worked as a doctor in Far East Hospital in Shanghai. He had a close relationship with Ge Gongzhen. He was a special correspondent for Ge’s ‘Times’ newspaper and also sponsored progressive publications such as ‘Common People’ and ‘Cartoon’. In the autumn of 1934, he served as the director of the Chinese Consulate General in Manila, the Philippines. He loved overseas Chinese and was willing to handle affairs for them, and was deeply loved by overseas Chinese.
