This is the short-term residence after marriage of Xu Zhimo, a famous modern Chinese poet, essayist and the soul figure of the ‘New Moon School’, and Lu Xiaoman. The former residence was completed in 1926. It is a small western-style building with Chinese and Western architectural styles. The building area of the former residence is 600 square meters. There are two courtyards. The main building has three rooms on two floors, with east and west wing buildings in the front. The back building also has three rooms. There is a terrace on the roof for climbing. Above the gate of the former residence is the calligraphy ‘Former Residence of Poet Xu Zhimo’ by Jin Yong, the poet’s cousin. In the main hall, there is a plaque inscribed ‘Anyatang’, which was supplemented by Qi Gong. On both sides of the ground floor of the main building are exhibitions on Xu Zhimo’s family background, life, thoughts and literary activities, showing the poet’s short but colorful life. The main hall, bedroom and study are arranged and restored to reproduce the poet’s family background and living places. Opening hours: Open from 08:30 to 17:00 all year round.
