The Examination Yuan is one of the five yuan of the original National Government. It is built on the site of the Imperial College in the Ming Dynasty and the Confucian Temple in the Qing Dynasty. It is a reinforced concrete building imitating wooden structure with large roofs. It is arranged along the two central axes of east and west. There are currently eight large-roof buildings. On the west line are Mingzhi Building, Hengjian Building, and Gongming Hall. On the east line, two quadrangles are formed around the main hall of the Martial Temple. There are two five-bay buildings, Ningyuan Building, Huaning Hall, and Baozhang Pavilion. Facing the west gate is the Mingzhi Building. The green tiles cover the Xieshan roof. It is richly decorated with carved beams and painted pillars. The wooden lattice doors and the platform in front of the building are surrounded by balustrades. The steps are wide. The plane is divided into three parts. The middle part of the building was originally two examination rooms, and one examination room on each side. The Ningyuan Building has four floors in the central area and three floors on both wings. It was originally the office of Dai Jitao, the president of the Examination Yuan, and later the office of Wang Jingwei. Now it is the location of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Nanjing Municipal People’s Government, the Nanjing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and the Nanjing Municipal People’s Congress. In 1992, it was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Nanjing. In 2001, it was again listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit. The specific business hours and opening status are subject to the opening situation on that day.
