Jiangyin Fortress, also known as Jiangyin Fortress Forest Park, is located on the south bank of the Yangtze River, with Huangshan (not the Huangshan Scenic Area in Huangshan City) at an elevation of 91.7 meters as its main body, and also includes the Huangshan Lake Park and the Goose Beak Park on the west side, as well as the golf course transformed from the tidal flats by the Yangtze River on the north side.
From the Ming and Qing dynasties to modern times, this place has always been a strategically important military fortress, with the remains of artillery batteries and scattered cannons suitable for military enthusiasts to visit. As a national forest park, although it is a mini version, it has dense vegetation and a good environment, where visitors can climb mountains, view the Yangtze River, and the Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge. The central place to view military relics is the Jiangyin Military Cultural Museum on the west slope of Huangshan, with walls and gates built to resemble a city wall and tower, like a military fortress, with a boat used in the crossing river battle placed at the entrance. Upon entering the gate, visitors first walk through a military tunnel displaying photos, then enter the building where the museum is located, where they can learn about the military history of Jiangyin and see various ancient weapons and other relics. The square between the museum and the gate displays many cannons from different periods. Open all year round, open all day, for the opening times of small attractions in the tourist area, please refer to the public notice of the scenic area.
