Fudan University Museum is located near the tranquil western lawn of the campus, with the building facing east and situated to the west. It is a two-story structure which represents the early architecture of Fudan University, covering an area of approximately 1,600 square meters. The unassuming grey two-story building to the west of Xianghui Hall is the location of the Cultural and Museology Department of Fudan University.


The museum comprises two permanent exhibition halls and two temporary ones. The collection consists of over two thousand pieces, including donations from institutions such as the Henan Province Museum, Luoyang Cultural Relics Team, and Shanghai Museum, as well as from Fudan University’s library, the College of Cultural and Museology, and the Biology Department. In terms of categories, the collection encompasses ancient art treasures such as ceramics and bronze ware. The museum has a systematic collection of ancient coins from various dynasties, more than three hundred pieces of Shang Dynasty oracle bones, and a valuable collection of works by contemporary Chinese calligraphy and painting masters, as well as American abstract art paintings.


Opening hours are not available on Mondays throughout the year; from Tuesday to Sunday, the museum is open from 09:00 to 11:30 and 13:30 to 16:30.
