Fudan University Museum is located near the large lawn in the serene west campus area, facing east with a westward orientation. It is a two-story early architectural structure of Fudan University, covering an area of approximately 1,600 square meters. On the west side of Xianghui Hall, a rather inconspicuous grey two-story building houses the Department of Cultural Relics and Museology at Fudan University. The museum comprises two permanent exhibition halls and two temporary exhibition halls. It boasts a collection of over two thousand pieces, which include donations from institutions such as the Henan Provincial Museum, Luoyang Cultural Relics Team, and Shanghai Museum, as well as the old collections of Fudan University’s library, School of Cultural Relics and Museology, and the Department of Biology. The collection spans various types of ancient art treasures, including ceramics and bronze ware. It has a systematic collection of ancient coins from different dynasties, over three hundred pieces of Yin-Shang oracle bone inscriptions which are extremely precious, and also includes a selection of works by contemporary Chinese calligraphy and painting masters and American abstract art paintings. The museum is closed all day on Mondays throughout the year; and open from 09:00-11:30 and 13:30-16:30 on Tuesdays to Sundays.
