Fuhong Bridge is a stone beam bridge, elegantly situated at the west entrance of Hougang. Originally named ‘Fuhong Bridge’, it is commonly referred to as Hongqiao by the local residents.
During the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom period, hundreds of Taiping soldiers tragically lost their lives on this very bridge, their blood staining both the bridge and the river behind it, hence the name Hongqiao. The bridge is open all year round and accessible 24/7.Fuhong Bridge
