Gao Bridge, originally named Xingfu Bridge, was constructed in the second year of the Yuantong era (1334 AD). The bridge measures 15.05 meters in length, 4.23 meters in width, and stands 4.4 meters high.
Due to its single arch design, it appears taller, leading to its common name, High Bridge. In ancient Chinese, the character ‘Gao’ is interchangeable with ‘high’, and to convey elegance, scholars prefer to call it Gao Bridge. On one side of the bridge’s central part, a Bagua pattern is engraved, and the arch stones are adorned with floral carvings. In its early years, the bridge was covered with various small trees such as goji, adding to its antique charm. Gao Bridge is open to visitors all year round, with full-day access.Gao Bridge
