Gexian Village Resort is located in Yanshan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. In June 2016, it was invested and constructed by Xinbang Group. At present, the cumulative investment has exceeded 1.569 billion yuan. Backed by Gexianshan, a famous Taoist mountain with a history of a thousand years, it is positioned to create a new landmark of Jiangxi tourism as the goal. The project is divided into two phases, with a planned construction area of about 300,000 square meters.
The core scenic area of the project is 650 mu, including three major sections: the distribution center area, Gexian Village Resort, and Tianjingtai Scenic Area. In the future, it will continue to develop outward along the valley. Gexian Village Resort is built around Gexianshan Scenic Area. Taking the cultivation deeds of Immortal Ge Xuan on Gexianshan as a clue, it integrates the cultural core and elements of Taoism. Combined with classical landscape paintings and Taoist aesthetics, it reproduces the mountain village scene where Immortal Ge Xuan lived and cultivated in the late Han Dynasty. With water, bamboo, and village as creative elements, it is committed to creating a natural holy land and fairy village integrating ecological tourism, leisure vacation, business exhibition and Taoist cultural experience. The scenic spots in Gexian Village Resort: Yuanfang – Round sky and square earth, hidden in the mountains and forests. The naming of Yuanfang is derived from the Taoist concept of ’round sky and square earth’. The copper casting compass in Yuanfang is created by famous artists, telling the Taoist understanding and profound attainments of the principles of heaven and earth. The overall design is based on the concept of ‘disappearing architecture’. The facade is made of glass mirrors and bamboo. Looking from a distance, the natural scenery of the mountains is presented on these glass mirrors. It is like being hidden among the mountains and forests. If you are not careful, it is difficult to find this building, and it is even more difficult to see the paradise hidden behind the building.
Zhongmiao Pavilion – Mysterious and profound, both real and illusory. Zhongmiao Pavilion is the commanding height of the scenic area. It adopts an ancient architectural structure. The main building is 26 meters high and is a pure wooden structure with three floors and four columns. Most of the pavilions are used for storing books and enshrining gods, which endows the pavilion with more cultural significance. In the evening, a grand and solemn Zhongmiao Pavilion show will be staged. The combination of modern technological lights and ancient buildings is dreamy and gives people an extremely visually impactful experience.
Ancestral temple culture has a long history. The ancestral temple square is mainly composed of the altar in the center and Ge Weng’s ancestral temple. The altar is a place for crowning, marriage, and sacrificial rites. It is a place for ancient crowning ceremonies, wedding ceremonies, and sacrificial rites to pray to the gods. Some traditional folk cultural performances will be staged in the central area of the ancestral temple square.
Washing Dust Gate – Cold pool and clear water, washing away the worldly dust. Under the moonlight, seekers perform a clasped-hand salute and enter the Taoist gate. The ‘Washing Dust Gate’ created by a fog curtain device has beautiful light and shadow and fairy mist, washing away the worldly dust for people who come from afar.
At night, the tea garden transforms into a scene of ethereal immortals playing the zither, created by holographic projection technology. Technological lighting and forest mist provide visitors with an immersive experience of an enchanting and colorful fairyland.
Water Curtain Movie – A Majestic and Heart-Rending Production located at the Zhongmiao Pavilion, where every night, live-action large-scale water curtain movies are performed. The fusion of water and light brings a dazzling visual feast, with actors dancing to the rhythmic music, depicting the ups and downs of legendary stories.
Xianyinping – A Place Where the Melody Lingers Around the Beams, Echoing in Our Ears Since Ancient Times, the lush forests and tall bamboos of Ge Xian Mountain form a natural landscape. Xianyinping is a music square built with a ‘bamboo’ culture theme. Its main structure is made from naturally dried and treated bamboo from the mountains, and the overall architecture also presents the image of bamboo leaves. Various music events and cultural performances are often held here.
Chinese Cultural Museum of Zhenwu – A Long-standing History of Zhenwu Culture located at the entrance of Lingbao Xian Street, the museum’s wall adopts the horse-head wall style, quite in line with the Huizhou architectural style. Inside, it showcases the Zhenwu culture that has been passed down in China since ancient times, with exhibition areas, retail areas, and workshops, allowing visitors to deeply understand Zhenwu culture while appreciating ancient artifacts.
