Yuanyang Stream Scenic Area is currently a protected area for the Mandarin Duck in China. The stream is 14 kilometers long, surrounded by deep mountains and dense forests, offering a tranquil and clean environment, making it an ideal habitat for the Mandarin Duck. Every autumn, hundreds to thousands of Mandarin Ducks fly from the north to overwinter here.

Yuanyang Stream is divided into five tourist areas: Baishuiyang, Yuanyang Stream, Chaxi, Shuizhuyang, Kao Xi, and Yuanyang Lake. The Yuanyang Stream tourist area is the central scenic area of Yuanyang Stream, featuring wild animals such as the Mandarin Duck, macaques, and rare plants. It integrates mountain and water landscapes including streams, waterfalls, peaks, rocks, and caves, making it a rare comprehensive tourist area. Notably, the ‘Baizhangjue Water Curtain Cave’ is listed as the top of the five major water curtain caves in the country.

The Chaxi tourist area is located downstream of Yuanyang Stream, with the main attraction being the ‘Baizhangji Water Bamboo Ocean’ which is comparable to the ‘Baizhangjue Water Curtain Cave’. The Kao Xi tourist area, located to the west of the Chaxi tourist area, is characterized by steep peaks, secluded valleys, and Huangshan pines.
