The ultra-popular British independent rock band, Glass Animals, is set to return to Mainland China in February 2025 with their new tour, ‘Human Musical Group Sensations: TOUR OF EARTH’! After stirring up a musical frenzy in the United States and the United Kingdom, Glass Animals is ready to bring their impactful live performances back to Shanghai, presenting fans with a vibrant and emotional audio-visual feast. Join in stepping into the band’s fantastical and charismatic musical universe, and feel the surging energy of Heat Waves live! More cities to be announced, so stay tuned!

Glass Animals, nominated for Grammy and Brit Awards, and with diamond-level album sales, released their highly anticipated fourth studio album, I Love You So F***ing Much, this past summer, and embarked on their global tour. This tour, named ‘Human Music Group Sensations Glass Animals: TOUR OF EARTH’, will witness the band’s first-ever performances at the most milestone venues in their career, including New York’s Madison Square Garden and London’s O2 Arena, with plans to land in Asia in the spring of 2025.

The band was founded in Oxford in 2010, led by vocalist, songwriter, and producer Dave Bayley, along with his childhood friends Joe Seaward (drummer), Edmund Irwin-Singer (bassist and keyboardist), and Drew MacFarlane (guitarist and keyboardist). The new album, I Love You So F***ing Much, began with the singles Creatures in Heaven and A Tear In Space (Airlock), born out of Bayley’s existential crisis last summer. At that time, the band’s third studio album, Dreamland (2020), and the hit single Heat Waves, brought them global success. Dreamland, released during the pandemic, permeated with the loneliness brought on by isolation, propelling Glass Animals to become a phenomenon.

Heat Waves has shattered multiple global records, becoming the first British band song to top the Billboard Hot 100 for five consecutive weeks since Spice Girls’ Wannabe in 1995. It is also the first song to reach the summit since Pharrell Williams’ Happy, entirely created by a single songwriter and producer, Dave Bayley. Bayley jokingly refers to it as the ‘never-ending song.’ The track has not only received Grammy and Brit Awards nominations but also topped Australia’s triple j Hottest 100 chart, with global streams exceeding 44 billion times, becoming the first British band single to top Spotify’s global charts.

Now, this globally acclaimed band has released their most personal album to date, I Love You So F***ing Much. The album showcases ten different facets of love, with Bayley taking on all songwriting and production. From existentialism to intimate relationships, from witnessing first love in childhood to romance, hatred, and heartbreak, each song presents a different aspect of love. Dave shares, ‘This album poured out all of me. For me, it’s like my child. The creation process was sometimes painful as I had to delve into various types of love and the feelings they bring, from happiness to mediocrity, from regret to hatred and loss. All these stories unfold against the backdrop of the vast universe. The album conveys that emotional connections between humans are grander, more important, and more complex than the universe. Nothing else matters.’

Open from 02/24-02/25, performance times and durations are subject to the event venue.
