The Golden Beach Scenic Area is located on the east side of Yuantuojiao Tourist Resort in Qidong City, Jiangsu Province, with a total area of more than 2,700 mu. It is adjacent to the Yellow Sea in the east and close to the Yangtze River in the south. It has rich wild animal and plant resources and a good ecological environment. In 2011, it was rated as a national AAA-level tourist attraction. In 2017, it was rated as a provincial wetland park in Jiangsu Province.
The scenic area is located at the eastern end of Jiangsu Province and is one of the earliest places in the Yangtze River Delta to welcome the sunrise. Whenever the sun rises, the rays of sunlight are everywhere, magnificent and majestic. The entire beach is like being covered with gold sand, hence the name ‘Golden Beach’. Where the river and the sea blend, the wetland is vast, the water is beautiful and there are abundant products. The charming original ecological landscape and rich and colorful animals and plants of the Golden Beach Scenic Area form a unique scenic line on the eastern coast of China. It integrates ecological wetland protection, popular science education, and leisure vacations. Many tourism activities such as picking hard clams, ecological fishing, and popular science education can be carried out. Whether it is popular science education for teenagers, team outdoor expansion, or family vacation and entertainment, or romantic confessions for couples, this is a coastal vacation place full of vitality. Opening hours: From May 1st to October 31st, it is open from 08:30 to 17:30; from November 1st to April 30th, it is open from 08:30 to 17:00. Preferential policies: Children: Children under 6 years old (inclusive) or under 1.4 meters in height (inclusive) are free; minors aged 6 (exclusive) to 18 years old (inclusive) can enjoy half price with valid identity documents. Elderly: People over 70 years old (inclusive) are free; elderly people aged 60 (inclusive) to 70 years old (exclusive) can enjoy half price with valid identity documents. Disabled people: Disabled people and one accompanying person of severely disabled people are exempt from admission tickets with valid identity documents. Free. Students: Full-time undergraduate and below students can enjoy half price with valid identity documents. Others: Active servicemen of the People’s Republic of China, retired cadres and retired sergeants (sergeants) of the army, preferential care recipients enjoying national pension and subsidy, fire rescue personnel (including on-duty, retired, disabled fire rescue personnel, fire rescue academy students and full-time government firefighters), and other preferential recipients recognized by the government are exempt from admission tickets with valid identity documents.
